Khaos builds creative tools. These terms cover khaos.studio and any Khaos software or tool you use (we’ll just call them the “Tools”). We’ve kept this short and in plain English — no traps, no fine print built to catch you out.

By using our Tools or this site, you’re agreeing to what’s below. If you don’t agree, that’s okay — just don’t use them.

The short version

We make the tools. You make the work. Think of a Khaos tool like a good power tool: we build it to be sharp and reliable, but how you use it — and what you make with it — is on you. We’re hands-off by design. You own everything you create; we own the tool itself.

Your work is yours

Anything you write, design, or build with our Tools — your scripts, projects, story worlds, footage, all of it — belongs to you. We claim no ownership and take no license over your creative work. We don’t sell it, train on it, or hand it to anyone. (How we handle data is in our Privacy Policy.)

Our software is ours

The Tools themselves — the apps, code, designs, names, and logos — belong to Khaos Inc. We’re letting you use them, not giving them away. So please don’t:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or take the software apart.
  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share your access with others.
  • Use the Tools to break the law or harm someone.

That’s about it. Use the tools to make great things; just don’t repackage the tools themselves.

You’re responsible for your projects

This is the power-tool part, and we mean it kindly: you are responsible for your own work. That includes:

  • Backups. Keep your own copies of anything you care about.
  • Outcomes. What you make, ship, publish, or decide using our Tools is your call and your responsibility.
  • Your setup. If you connect our Tools to outside services (say, an AI provider), you’re responsible for those accounts and their terms.

We’re not standing over your shoulder, and we won’t be liable if a project breaks, a render fails, or you delete something you wish you hadn’t. Save your work. Measure twice.

The tools come “as is”

We build carefully and we use these tools ourselves — but we can’t promise they’ll be perfect, always available, or bug-free. The Tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. You use them at your own risk, the way you’d pick up any tool and accept that a slipped cut is on the hands holding it, not the maker of the saw.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Khaos Inc. won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — lost work, lost profits, lost time — arising from your use of the Tools or this site. Our tools are here to help you create; they’re not a guarantee of any outcome.

This website’s content

The writing, images, logos, and design on khaos.studio belong to Khaos Inc. Enjoy them, share a link, quote us with credit — but please don’t republish or repackage the site’s content as your own without asking.

Changes

We may update these terms now and then. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top. If you keep using the Tools after a change, that means the update’s okay with you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

We’d rather talk plainly than hide behind lawyers. Questions about these terms? Email us at k@khaos.studio.
